BUKIDNON Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri Jr. on Tuesday, March 17, has voluntarily put himself under self-quarantine for 14 days following the announcement that his son, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri’s, tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The governor has also called for those who have history of travel in places infected by the virus to also conduct self-quarantine to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to family members, relatives, neighbors, and other people.
“Ako kamo tanang gihangyo nga likayan sa pag lakaw-lakaw sa dili importanteng tuyo, magpabilin sa atong panimalay sa tanang panahon, aron mapugnan nato ang padayong pagkaylap sa maong sakit,” Zubiri said.
(I ask you all to avoid loittering, especially in unnecessary purposes, let us stay home at all times so we can prevent the spread of this disease.)
He added that everyone should be responsible of their own health condition, to practice hygiene protocols and to avoid crowded places and attending gatherings.
“Kinasingkasing nako kamong gihangyo sa inyong kooperasyon niining panahona nga gihulga kitang tanan sa makamatay nga sakit,” Zubiri said.

The entire province of Bukidnon is also placed under general community quarantine.
Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, on Monday, March 16, has announced that he tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
The senator said he took the test on March 13, while on self-quarantine and he received a call from the Department of Health confirming his positive result.
Juan Miguel said he will stay locked in isolation for ten more days until he gets a negative result.
Other lawmakers, such as Senators Sherwin Gatchalian and Nancy Binay, also decided to put themselves under self-quarantine since last week after learning that a resource person who attended one of their hearings has tested positive for Covid-19.
