BTAO deploys enforcers in city's check-up points

THE Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) deployed traffic enforcers to the four identified check-up points in the city to maintain the smooth traffic in several areas.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Luisito Acebuche, head of BTAO, said Wednesday, March 18, that in every check-up point, there will be 10 traffic enforcers who will assist the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) personnel.

"We deployed our enforcers starting yesterday to guide our motorists and to maintain the smooth flow of traffic," he said.

He added that they deployed a total of 40 enforcers to guide the motorists.

BTAO also put up special lanes in the check-up points for the ambulance, health workers and other frontliners in the battle against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

BCPO earlier deployed its personnel for check-up points in the boundaries of Barangays Mansilingan, Sum-ag, Bata, and in access road going to Bacolod-Silay Airport.

The BCPO's check-up points operation is in compliance with the Executive Order (EO) 21, issued by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, declaring general community quarantine in Bacolod.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, earlier said that they need the cooperation of the motorists to prevent and control the spread of Covid-19, and to maintain the smooth flow of traffic in the city's boundaries.

"We cannot avoid the clogged up of vehicles because of its volume and we only have one to three thermal scanners," he said.

The check-up points operation was led by the BCPO-Mobile Patrol Group, and Bacolod City Mobile Force Company.

BCPO personnel were deployed 24/7 to secure the city's boundaries with the assistance from City Health Office and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
