POLICE have arrested seven persons allegedly involved in illegal drug trade and seized more than P1 million of suspected “shabu” in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Cagayan de Oro City early this week.

Members of the Regional Special Operation Unit-Northern Mindanao have arrested Ackier Angcos, 42, of Dante Damaso, 25, Saidamen Mamadra, 31, and Nasrodin Ancgos, 35, all residents of Bumbaran, Lanao del Sur; and Gilven Damaso, 29, of El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.

They were nabbed in a drug bust for illegal selling of firearms in Pueblo de Oro, Upper Carmen, this city on Monday, March 16.

Confiscated from their possession were a caliber 38 revolver with ammunition and sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth around P374,000.

The suspects used a multicab pick-up and motorcycle during the operation.

Police said the older Angcos was under surveillance and monitoring for his alleged involvement in illegal selling of guns and drug trade in Marawi City.

Authorities said the suspect used sugar cane farming as a front while the four others arrested were his runners in the illegal activities.

On the other hand, around P680,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from a carpenter and his companion in a drug-bust in Barangay Nazareth, this city Tuesday, March 17.

Arrested were Alberto Felecilda Jr., 36, resident of Gusa, this city, and Jacint Nave, 29, mechanic helper, resident of Barangay Bonbon.

Police said Felicilda was figured in the police’s Directorate for Intelligence.

All arrested suspects are now detained and will face drug charges.
