NCCA opens Museums and Galleries Month 2020 Digital Poster Competition

THE National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), through its Subcommision on Cultural Heritage, is calling all amateur digital artists to join the Museums and Galleries Month (MGM) 2020 Digital Poster Competition.

The Museums and Galleries Month (MGM) is observed every month of October by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 798, signed in 1991. It underscores the importance of arousing national consciousness and pride in our rich Filipino culture and heritage embodying the aspirations of the nation, expressed in all media of art as well as historical and religious artifacts.

MGM 2020 will be celebrated with the theme “Engaging Exhibitions for Emerging Generations” to highlight museums and galleries as agents of change and development.

In light of this, the NCCA is launching the MGM 2020 digital poster competition. The poster competition will serve as an avenue for amateur digital artists to transcend their artistic prowess to a greater number of audiences by getting the chance to have their work to be the official poster of the upcoming 2020 Museums and Galleries Month celebration.

The competition is open to all Filipino citizens, 18-21 years old, except to officers and members of the NCCA Secretariat and their relatives up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or affinity. Multiple entries are allowed in the competition. The posters shall be a visualization of the MGM 2020 theme and must adhere to the objectives of the MGM celebration. The deadline for submission is on April 20, 2020.

The sole winning entry will be receiving a P25,000 net of applicable withholding taxes, certificate of recognition, and framed printed poster from NCCA.
