Clark bans POGOs to operate during quarantine period

CLARK FREEPORT -- Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGOs) inside the Clark Freeport Zone will not be allowed to operate during the duration of the enhanced community quarantine implemented by the national government.

“This is in accordance with the March 18 Memorandum from the Executive Secretary which contains additional guidelines for the community quarantine over the entire Luzon and management of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19),” Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Communications Division Manager Noel Tulabut said.

On Tuesday, CDC issued guidelines in limiting movement within the Clark Freeport Zone to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Only employees in specific business enterprises will be allowed to and from the Freeport.

These include workers in the food sector (groceries, supermarkets, duty free shops, convenience stores), gasoline stations, clinics and hospitals, drug stores, banks, payment and remittance centers, waste management (garbage collection), utility companies (power, water, telcos), logistics, grounds maintenance (street sweeping, grass cutting), Business Process Outsourcing and manufacturing.
