Sungduan: An appeal from a nurse

AMID the problem on Covid-19 affecting different nations around the globe there is an appeal from a Cordilleran nurse based in Bologna, Italy not to take for granted the present pandemic situation.

Marilyn Aro-Forte, an ex-president and now an active member of the Cordillerans in Italy particularly Bologna and Modena, one of the provinces first declared red zone said the number of Covid-19 cases in Italy is increasing despite being declared under lockdown since March 11.

She and her colleague nurse Victor Bruno Zangue who is from Cameroon in Africa is appealing to the public to follow orders from health officials to prevent the spread of the virus.

Frontliner Aro-Forte added that Italy is already well-equipped in terms of the needed equipment. However, it is still having a problem when it comes to containing the spread of the virus.

“Having coronavirus is not a joke because it attacks our respiratory system. A serious respiratory problem that to maintain life needs a respiratory ventilator that from our last update even the country Italy is having difficulty on this machine,” Aro-Forte stressed.

She also narrated that just in front of the hospital where she works, the road used to be very busy but in their present situation, every movement they make must be reasonable like going to work, or buying medicine in a pharmacy and purchasing food in grocery only.

With this, she hopes and prays that this situation will not be experienced by her home country Philippines especially the region where she came from, the Cordillera.

Let us abide by our government’s order addressing this health concern affecting more citizens not just in the country but worldwide too...
