La Trinidad closes establishments

LA TRINIDAD Mayor Romeo Salda ordered closure of establishments not providing basic needs in a bid to avoid spread of coronavirus disease (Covid–19).

Salda ordered closure of bars, computer shops, billiard halls, wagwagan, dry goods, cellphone/gadget shops, parlors/salons/barber shops, auto supplies, auto repair/machine shops, hardware, and carwash operating in the municipality.

The chief executive called for the understanding of residents as he stressed to abide by the orders of the national government to stay within their respective homes adding only one member per household is allowed to go out to buy the needs for the family.

Restaurants will be open only for take-out orders and deliveries while groceries, stores and marts are only allowed to open in specific hours.

Curfew hours is set from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. with the personnel of La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, barangay officials, tanods and barangay peacekeeping action teams tasked to conduct round –the – clock surveillance and monitoring.

The local government unit added they will be mobilizing and hiring limited local public utility vehicles for the 16 barangays of Benguet capital town for limited hours only from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to assist residents to purchase basic needs.

The national directive reiterates that everyone should confine themselves in their homes except for medical emergencies.

An emergency vehicle will be provided by the LGU that will cater stakeholders with serious medical conditions, including those who will undergo dialysis.
