La Trinidad carries out disinfection

DISINFECTION efforts continue in Benguet’s capital town to combat coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The Local Government Unit of La Trinidad disinfected sections of Halsema Highway from the city limits to Kilometer 6 including sidewalks, Friday afternoon.

On the same day, 50 gallons of alcohol refills were distributed for barangay Balili residents, for free.

Councilor Apolinario Bagano Jr., La Trinidad Sanggunian Kabataan Federation representative, said all sitio’s of Balili will be given supply of alcohol through house to house visits.

Bagano said a part of the SK fund was utilized to purchase the alcohol, adding they still urge stakeholders to practice proper hand washing when inside their homes.

Meanwhile, Benguet caretaker Eric Go Yap announced distribution of free Vitamin C for 80 senior citizens starting March 23 to strengthen their immune system.

The official said for safety purposes on the Covid-19 threat and in compliance to the enhanced community quarantine regulations, he asked for the elderly to give their IDs to their representatives.

“Again, for senior citizens who failed to be included in our reservation list, kindly wait for the free Vitamin C we will be giving the senior citizens of the 13 municipalities of Benguet through your chief executives,” the solon added.
