LGUs limit market hours amid community quarantine

PUBLIC market in different towns operate in limited time in line with the implementation of enhanced community quarantine.

In Apalit town, the once 24-hour operation of public market is now limited to six hours from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to give way for the daily disinfection implemented by the local government.

Starting March 23, the local government unit (LGU) of Arayat is providing residents eight hours from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to buy essential goods in the public market.

The LGU of Santo Tomas allows operation of its public market from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The window hours will be utilized for the disinfection of the facility.

The municipality of San Simon is likewise limiting the operation of its public market from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the duration of enhanced community quarantine.

Residents of said municipalities are directed to adhere with the regulations set by their respective LGUs for the protection of the community against the dreaded coronavirus disease 2019.

Although public markets remain operational, the LGU reminded its constituents to limit their movement and only go out if needed, and must always carry their home quarantine passes.
