P120,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P120,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City from March 20 to 21.

The operations lead to the arrest of Oliver Hong, 47, of Barangay Handumanan; Kenjie Planilla, 23, of Purok Sigay, Barangay 2; Jan Mark Dela Cruz, 26, and Raymart Dela Cruz, 23, both residents of Purok Tahong, Barangay.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Hong was arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at Ong Bun Pension House in Barangay 13 at about 8:25 p.m. Saturday.

Police recovered from Hong’s possession six sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P25,000, and the P500 marked money.

Planilla was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 led by Major Charles Gever at Purok Sagrado 2, Barangay Estefania at about 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Police recovered from Planilla’s possession three sachets of shabu weighing five grams with estimated market value of P45,000, and the P300 marked money.

The Dela Cruz siblings were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 led by Major Sherlock Gabana at Purok Tahong, Barangay 2, at about 5:20 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession eight sachets of shabu weighing six grams with estimated market value of P50,000, and the P300 marked money.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 2, 3 and 8 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a suspected robber was arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 at Araneta Street, Barangay Pta. Taytay, Bacolod City Saturday afternoon.

Police identified the suspect as Jose Carlos Villanueva, 42, of Barangay Pta. Taytay.

Pico said the suspect was arrested after he was caught stealing the cellular phone of Llame Joy Salagada, 32, of Barangay 26, at about 3:40 p.m.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 9 and facing robbery charges.
