Fire destroys P1.2-M properties in Pagadian City

SOME P1.2 million worth of properties went up in smoke after a fire hit a village in Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur, the police said Monday, March 23.

The Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office reported that the fire broke out at 12:20 p.m. Sunday at Purok Lower Lumbia in Lumbia Village, Pagadian City.

Investigation showed the fire started at the boarding house of Cornello Arellano and spread to nearby houses and a commercial building.

The police said the fire destroyed two houses and the commercial building while two other houses were damaged.

The firefighters declared fire out around 1 p.m. when they managed to contain the blaze.

No one were reported killed or injured during the incident, the police said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
