Guimaras limits outbound travels for residents

THE Provincial Government of Guimaras has doubled its efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Governor Samuel Gumarin issued Executive Order No. 38 series of 2020 that will limit the outbound travels of the Guimarasnons to Iloilo City.

Gumarin said the measure aims to mitigate the spread of the virus which is now a global pandemic.

“Kun mahimo pa lang, ipabilin naton nga Covid-free ang aton probinsiya,” Gumarin said.

He also appealed to the Guimarasnons to cooperate and abide the protocols and measures set by the loal government and the Department of Health to prevent the spread of the virus.

“Bululigan naton ini tanan. Sundon ang panugyan sang inyo gobyerno kag sang mga health experts. Indi lang ini proteksyon niyo. Proteksyon man ini sang inyo pamilya kag sang bug-os nga Guimarasnons,” he added.

Effective March 24, 2020 only the residents of Guimaras who have Outbound/Quarantine Pass will be allowed to travel to the City of Iloilo.

Guimarasnons can secure this Quarantine Pass from their Punong Barangays.

Those who are considered person under monitoring (PUM) or person under investigation (PUI) shall not be given this pass.

Each family is entitled to only one Quarantine Pass.

Further, health care workers, authorized government officials/personnel, essential skeletal work force assigned by the Province in Iloilo City and those traveling for medical reasons are not required of a Quarantine Pass when they travel to Iloilo City.

Individuals who are working in Iloilo City with Certificate of Employment and valid identification Card need not to secure a pass.

As of March 23, the Province of Guimaras has recorded 549 PUMs and five PUIs.

Two of the said PUIs have tested negative for Covid-19. (PR)
