P240,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Barangay 8

AN ESTIMATED P240,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8, Bacolod City Monday evening, March 23.

The operation also led to the arrest of John Paul Guzon, 34, of Barangay Tangub; Kube Salaza, 22, of Barangay Mansilingan; Bobby Palomo, 63, of Barangay 8; Erikson Cordova, 35, of Barangay 6; and Jonathan Salcedo, 27, of Barangay 8, all in Bacolod City.

Police Major Shelock Gabana, chief of Police Station 2, said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 6:20 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 21 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 30 grams, the P200 marked money, P800 cash, and drug paraphernalia.

Gabana said that Guzon, who was identified as street level target, was under surveillance for almost a month along with his companions before their arrest.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
