4 men arrested for illegal gambling

FOUR men were rounded up by local authorities in San Simon town after being caught engaging in illegal gambling amid the strict patrolling of officials.

According to San Simon chief of police Freddie Herry, the suspects were initially apprehended for violating the 8:00 p.m. curfew implemented in line with the enhanced community quarantine.

The suspects were identified as John Michael Viray, 27, resident of Concepcion, Tarlac; John Dominic Banate, 24, resident of Caloocan City; Jeffrey Bernales, 27, resident of Norzagaray, Bulacan; and Anthony Gallanosa, 24, resident of Rosario, Cavite.

Herry said the suspects were hosting a drop ball game and were collecting bets from players when they were apprehended by the patrolling police.

Confiscated from the suspects were one steel basket, cash amounting to P425 and four plyboards containing pictures of gambling cards.

Charges for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling was already filed against the suspects.
