Daughter of Patient 40 tests positive for Covid-19

THE Department of Health (DOH) said a 27-year-old female from Marawi City who tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is the daughter of Patient 40, the first positive case in Mindanao.

Patient 40 is the 54-year-old Muslim man who died on March 13 at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) for acute respiratory distress syndrome due to severe pneumonia with concomitant acute kidney injury.

His daughter, the 27-year-old female, and another 51-year-old female who also tested positive for Covid-19 are now confined at the Amai Pakpak Medical Center in Marawi City.

The 51-year-old female was admitted on March 13. She has cough.

DOH-Northern Mindanao assistant director David Mendoza said the 51-year-old woman has a travel history in Guangdong China, Dubai and Manila.
