DOH records 219 PUIs in Northern Mindanao

THE Department of Health (DOH)-Northern Mindanao has recorded a total of 219 patients under investigation (PUIs) in the region as of Tuesday, March 24.

DOH-Northern Mindanao Assistant Regional Director Dave Mendoza said during a regular press conference on the coronavirus disease on Wednesday, March 25, that of the 219 PUIs in the region, 21 of them are currently admitted and 35 were tested negative and discharged.

Mendoza said there are 122 PUIs under home quarantine, while 38 were able to complete the quarantine period.

The health department has also recorded a total of 3,817 persons under monitoring (PUMs), 1,989 of which are undergoing the 14-day quarantine while 1,828 have completed the quarantine.

Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) Chief Dr. Jose Chan, for his part, said there are 15 PUIs admitted at the NMMC, adding that some of them are still waiting for their confirmatory results and some have their samples going through testing in the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Manila.

Dr. Lorraine Nery of City Health Office (CHO), meanwhile, said there are 686 PUMs in Cagayan de Oro City with 342 under home quarantine.

Nery said the top three barangays in the city with the highest number of PUMs is still Barangays Carmen, Macasandig and Bugo.

"Ang contact tracing nato is katong mga PUIs nato nga na-admit sa Northern Mindanao Medical Center ug katong mga kailangan nato sila ipang trace ang ilang mga contacts," Nery said.
