POLICE officers in the province have come up with creative ideas to convey their appeal to public to stay at home to contain the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Law enforcers ditched the usual posting of pictures of them holding placards containing their messages, and thought of different strategies that will quickly get the attention of the public.

In Apalit town, police officers sought the assistance of the inmates who held the printed message “Stay at home or stay with us.”

The message supposedly serves as a warning to individuals who continue to loiter the streets amid the strict implementation of enhanced community quarantine due to Covid-19.

The inmates were all arrested due to violation of curfew hours, liquor ban, and disobedience to person of authority during the community quarantine.

According to the Department of Justice, individuals who disobey or resist to follow enforcers during the enhanced community quarantine may face charges and arrest.

Meanwhile, in the municipality of Sto. Tomas, local authorities and citizens made use of their famous product -- coffin -- to urge residents in going outside of their houses amid the threat of Covid-19.

A white funeral casket with a message “Stay at home or stay inside” was placed at the checkpoint at the border of Sto. Tomas in an attempt to show to residents and passers-by the risk of going outside their houses.

Dubbed as the Casket Capital of the Philippines, Sto. Tomas is among the top producer and exporter of funeral coffins in the country.

Police officers in the province have been strictly manning the checkpoints at the borders of each municipality and the province to ensure the containment of Covid-19.
