Bacolod disinfects quarantine centers

WITH the pressing need to decontaminate places and areas in the community, the City Government of Bacolod also initiated such effort specifically in schools that have been designated as quarantine centers for persons under monitoring (PUMs).

As of Wednesday, March 25, there are 1,526 PUMs in Bacolod City.

Bacolod City Administrator Em Legaspi-Ang oversaw the cleanup, disinfection and decontamination of South Hills Academy in Barangay Alijis which will be utilized as Quarantine Center for PUMs.

Administrator Ang was with the personnel of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) and Department of Public Services (DPS) in conducting the necessary disinfection to prepare the center for the use of the PUMs.

The said school houses 17 rooms with individual toilets. The center will be manned by Health workers from the Bacolod City Health Office who will be taking the patients’ health declaration and travel history and will continue to monitor their health condition during the 14-day quarantine period.

Seven other sites, which are public school buildings, are also being considered to be utilized as PUM quarantine centers upon the approval of the Department of Education.

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia also visited the quarantine center during the disinfection.
