Tricycle driver shot dead in Talisay

A TRICYCLE driver was shot dead in Sitio Cabakahan, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City on March 24 by still two unidentified suspects.

The victim was identified by the police as Leonardo Bego, 56 years old of the same place.

Police Lieutenant Ray Cordero, deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, said based on their investigation, two motives came out for the killing of the victim that includes illegal drugs and the recent robbery of fighting cocks reported in the village.

Police Major Jigger Gimeno, chief of Police of Talisay City Police Station, said they are thoroughly investigating the personal background of the victim whose body was found lying on his tricycle in a forested area of the barangay. He sustained gunshot wounds in his face and different parts of his body.

Recovered from the crime scene were two empty cartridge of caliber .45. The body of the victim was brought to Manapla Funeral Homes in Silay City for autopsy and post mortem examination.

Some concerned citizens said they heard five gunshots from where the body of the victim was recovered and that two suspects were seen moving away from the crime scene. (TDE)
