CURFEW violators face possible detention especially those found to have no reason to roam the streets according to the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO – COR).
Police Brigadier General R’win Pagkalinawan, PRO–COR director, explained the measure is in consonance with the government’s action to prevent the possible local transmission of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
“The role of the PNP particularly during this time is its concentration on law enforcement, when we say do not go out, do not go out and once we see you going out and you have no reason to do so it is unnecessary, you will be flagged down,” Pagkalinawan said.
“Violators of the 24 hour curfew will be held at the police precincts for them to learn because since they wasted the time of the police, then he or she must face the consequence of what they have done,” the regional director stated.
Meanwhile, PRO-COR have finalized the lists of cargo truck vehicles ferrying essentials to and from Baguio City and the region to assist them in their transport service.
“Everyday we finalize the list of those in the transport services through social media for the public to know and that for all goods to be ferried. This is now a way for the public to know that they do not have any reason to travel unless they are from the cargo transport business, any construction or other activities wherein people are to converge will be put on hold,” Pagkalinawan added.
