THE announcement that Cebu province and the independent cities of Lapu-Lapu and Cebu will be placed under an enhanced community quarantine has sent Cebuanos into a buying frenzy that they trooped to stores on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

Consumers had to endure long lines outside establishments as businesses were ordered by government to strictly observe social distancing and limit customers ingress.

Civilians also flocked to the North and South Bus Terminals in hopes that they could catch a ride home. Public transportation are mandated to observe social distancing, which caused long queues in and outside the respective terminals.

Dine-in activities in food service establishments in Cebu were also added to the strict social distancing measures that have been implemented to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

During a press conference Thursday, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia asked Cebuanos not to panic as Cebu has enough supply of necessities during the entire duration of the enhanced community quarantine.

"Ayaw mo'g panic, ayaw mo'g kahadlok. Stay calm, " the governor said.

Garcia has issued an order implementing an enhanced community quarantine in the province effective Friday, March 27, 2020.
