HONG KONG was the venue for the Zonta International District Awards held every Biennium end (2018-2020) to render recognition honors to Zonta’s various clubs and districts.
Zonta Club of Cebu 2 belongs to District 17, composed of 76 clubs in these countries/regions: Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Macau and the Philippines. All clubs work for women empowerment and gender equality as well as improving the lives of marginalized women and girls in their communities.
Celebrating its Centenary last year (founded in 1919), Zonta International urged all clubs worldwide to undertake Centennial projects of which Zonta Cebu 2 garnered the Centennial Honor 100 years of Zonta Award for its “100 Books for 100 Families” project.
And that’s not all! Zonta 2 was also a proud recipient of the “Centennial Star Club in Excellence Achievement Award,” Diamond Category, for the club’s overall contribution to the ideals of Zonta International in service, advocacy, education and leadership.

Now, its push-button, digital style at Ding How Dimsum House! The pioneers in the now-famous Cebu dim sum cuisine—the Uytengsu and Kokseng families—have elevated the food ordering style through individual screens. One may view, place an order, and while waiting, engage in trivia, history etc. onscreen! The new system rolled out at its latest branch on the second floor of AyalaMalls Central Bloc at Cebu IT Park.
“Our commitment has always been two-fold: Preserving the rich story of Ding How dishes and improving the dining experience. Digital innovation was the natural next step for us,” shared company president Raymond Kokseng. Here, dishes are made-to-order, to ensure fresh, delicious, high-quality dim sum.
First opened in 1969, on Colon St., it introduced the extremely popular “Steamed Fried Rice” (mmm!) and brought in the idea of “All Day Dining,” instead of the traditional lunch and dinner.
