IT WAS an especially hectic day for hundreds of Cebuanos on Thursday, March 26, 2020 as people scrambled for ways to cope with an imminent province-wide enhanced community quarantine aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The string of declarations of a lockdown made by the Provincial Government and the local government units of the Cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue and Talisay sent many commuters to bus terminals and consumers to supermarkets, setting aside government home quarantine guidelines for the day.

The Cebu City lockdown begins at 12 noon on Saturday, March 28, 2020; Lapu-Lapu City at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, March 29; Talisay City, Mandaue City and the rest of Cebu Province on Monday, March 30 at 12:01 a.m.
