Sungduan: Keep safe

CORDILLERANS based in Barcelona, Spain is safe amid the war against coronavirus.

This according to the first president of Bibak Barcelona Gil Tiban Catimo who works as a chef in a big restaurant company in Barcelona.

Catimo who is from Baguio City but now resides in Barcelona with his family said they are all healthy and no reports yet as of this time of Covid-19 positive cases affecting the Cordillerans based in the area.

A 15-day lockdown is being implemented in the area and works are cancelled. The social distancing of two meters between persons queuing in supermarkets is being implemented and even in subway trains and another transport system.

The military and police authorities are strictly implementing the home quarantine and curfew. Those who violate the rule without a valid reason will be fined ranging from 200 to 600 Euros and face penalty of imprisonment.

He said that for them who are working in a company are entitled to a subsidy. The domestic helpers though will have to depend on their employers to decide for their financial assistance.

The Philippine Consulate General in Barcelona has been constantly releasing advisories on Covid-19 and helplines for all the Pinoys working and living in Spain.

The government of nations around the globe are doing their best to fight the deadly coronavirus. Let us all help in winning this war by abiding by the orders of the concerned authorities. Keep safe everyone.
