Pelco2 calls on consumers to conserve electricity

Santa Rita -- The Pampanga II Electric Cooperative (Pelco2) Friday, March 27, appealed to consumers to voluntarily save on their electric consumption in order to avert possible power outages.

Pelco2, in a post on their official Facebook page, said the ongoing enhanced community quarantine this summer caused a rise in the volume of electric consumption as people are inside their homes.

“Because of this, Pelco II leadership calls voluntary savings on electricity usage especially after 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,” PELCO 2 said.

The call specifically mentioned the towns of Bacolor, Guagua, Sta. Rita and Lubao. This is to reduce the loading of 20 MVA Guagua Substation, which during this time is in critical condition and may cause long term and unexpected power interruption.

“Gumagawa na po ng mga kaparaanan ang pamunuan ng Pelco II para masulusyunan ang mga insidenting ito na maaaring tumagal ng humigit kumulang isang linggo. Sana po ay makiisa tayo sa panawagan na ito,” Pelco 2 said.
