4th Covid-19 case confirmed in Cordillera

THE Department of Health (DOH)-Cordillera Administrative Region confirmed the fourth coronavirus disease (Covid–19) case here.

According to DOH, the fourth Covid–19 case in the region is a 23–year–old male with a travel history from the National Capital Region.

The male patient is the third confirmed case in Baguio, fourth in the Cordillera region, along with a 61-year-old and 52-year-old females.

The first confirmed case is a 39-year-old male from Abra, an overseas Filipino worker who came home for a vacation.

DOH-CAR added there are 198 patients under investigation (PUIs) in the region.

At least 65 are admitted in health facilities, 77 are under home quarantine, and 56 others have been discharged and/or have completed the 14-day mandatory quarantine.

The DOH-CAR said there are also four deaths among PUIs. Two of those who died were tested negative while the test results for the other two are still pending.

Meanwhile, Baguio City Health Services Office (CHSO) cheif Doctor Rowena Galpo reported an increase in the number of persons under monitoring (PUM).

“Presently, PUMs in the city or those not having the symptoms who can stay at home and are to be observed for 14 days based on CHSO records show 1,847 cases, while those who have completed the 14 day quarantine are at 425 which are now being monitored by health workers and the barangay officials,” Galpo said.
