San Carlos distributes birthday gifts to senior citizens

THE City Government of San Carlos through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) afforded a total of P673,000 cash to 673 senior citizens in the city since March 23 until March 27.

The said birthday gift was Mayor Renato Gustilo’s promised to the senior citizens when he took over as the new city mayor that he would give P1,000 to every senior citizen in the city as birthday gift including those with pensions.

CSWD statistician II Elmer Artillaga said the giving out of cash gifts was a bit delayed because implementing rules and regulations were prepared.

He added that senior citizens whose birthdays were from January to February received the gift while those whose birthdays fall in March will receive their share next month.

The said 673 senior citizens came from the barangays of Punao, Prosperidad, San Juan-Sipaway, Quezon and Rizal with 302 birthday celebrators for the month of January and 371 for February.

One of the beneficiaries from Brgy. Quezon Rodolfo Encabo, 76 years old was very thankful to the city government. He said it was a great blessing that the city government remembers them gives them cash for their birthday.

The said ordinance for the birthday cash gift of P1,000 for senior citizens took effect on January 1, 2020. (PR)
