3 new Covid-19 cases in Bataan

BALANGA CITY -- Governor Albert Raymond Garcia revealed Friday night, March 27, three new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Bataan.

“According to the last report of Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, head of the Provincial Health Office [PHO], three patients tested positive for Covid-19 based on the results conducted in a hospital in Balanga City,” Garcia said in a statement.

One of the patients is a 53-year-old man and a resident of Abucay town, who works in Rizal province.

“He experienced LBM [loose bowel movement] and was admitted in the hospital last March 23, and is now experiencing no symptoms,” the governor stated.

Garcia added that the second new case also experienced LBM and was admitted last March 21.

“He is 58-year-old man from Samal town who has travel history in Manila. As of now, he is also showing no symptoms,” he added.

Moreover, the third case is a resident of Mariveles town who has no travel history but was confined due to shortness of breath and having fever.

“He was admitted in the hospital last March 22 and is now experiencing no symptoms,” Garcia furthered.

The new cases are yet to be confirmed by Department of Health (DOH).

“The patients are all in good condition and are being provided with medical attention. With this, the DOH, PHO, MHO [Municipal Health Office] and CHO [City Health Office] have intensified the ongoing contact tracing of the patients,” Garcia noted.

“I am asking my fellow Bataeños to stay at your homes since this is the most effective way to prevent the spread of this disease, as well as observing social distancing and proper washing of hands,” he added.

As of March 27, there are now six confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the province. One patient has already recovered and was discharged from the hospital. (PIA-Central Luzon)
