First day of quarantine 'not perfect but successful'

THE first day of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Cebu City was not perfect but it was successful.

This was how Cebu City Councilor Raymond Alvin Garcia, majority floor leader, described the first day of implementation of the ECQ in the city.

The entire Cebu City was placed under a state of ECQ starting 12 noon of March 28, 2020 and will last until 12 noon of April 28.

He observed not all residents are aware of the implementation of the ECQ, while some enforcers have not grasped fully all the provisions of the executive orders.

“There are still things which have not been fully understood. It’s a natural thing,” said Garcia.

He said it was still the first day and that the public, as well as the enforcers, still have a few more days before April 1--the start of the strict implementation of ECQ orders. (JJL)
