Gift of beauty from the kitchen

Gift of beauty from the kitchen

DO YOU know that the kitchen can offer you a fountain of beauty?

This nook in the house could be the most favorite spot among foodies and those who love to cook. However, there are also several people who visit the kitchen for some beauty pampering sessions, and not for food.

These Davao-based beauty experts shared their “secrets” when it comes to their health and wellness routines.

Exfoliation

Removing dead skin cells is a must if you want to have a clearer and smoother skin. You can do this through exfoliation.

Instead of buying commercial exfoliating creams, which may come with a hefty price tag, Golda Divinagracia recommended two different concoctions for the face and body.

For the face, sugar and olive oil can be used for exfoliation. You can likewise put a drop of essential oils like manuka and lavender for a “more powerful” combo.

For the body, a mixture of coffee, lemon and olive oil can made.

Applying it is as quick and easy as preparing it. Once you feel that you have already covered all the areas you want exfoliated, you can already take a shower and feel your glowing skin thereafter.

Anti-blemish, anti-acne, anti-aging, healthy hair and scalp

Do you want a raw material that creates kitchen products that have anti-blemish, anti-acne, and anti-aging wonder, and helps you have a healthy hair and scalp?

For Chinggay Estil-Quong, “ginger is life.”

A lot of people could be wondering how this woman in her late 30s able to maintain such a youthful glow and aura. Her secret? She has been a loyal ginger user all these years.

To experience ginger’s power to maintain a blemish-free skin, just cut a thin slice of it and rub it lightly to the area (i.e. face) twice daily.

If you want to take the stress away and keep you from aging, ginger tea is the answer. You can boil a piece of it with water. You may also add lemon juice and honey for added benefits and better taste. By the way, ginger tea can help you strengthen your immunity as well.

To make a ginger mask for that extra glowing skin, combine grated ginger with two tablespoons of honey and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Refrigerate this mixture for 30 minutes then apply on your face. You can let it stay for 30 minutes before washing your face with cool water. This is a certified anti-aging product.

Anti-dandruff and anti-hair fall

If your scalp has those scaly flakes which cause you hair fall, try using virgin coconut oil (VCO). Mix the oil and lemon juice and apply it to your scalp. Leave it overnight then wash it off in the morning.

Meanwhile, if you don’t feel like doing this, you can mix your shampoo with VCO (50/50 mixture).

The last tip is my personal regimen when my hair got severely damaged hair due to too much styling and coloring.
