3 Covid-19 cases reported in City of San Fernando

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City Information Office (CIO) of this capital city reported three confirmed corona virus (Covid 19) patients in Barangay San Isidro as of March 27.

Among the three confirmed cases, one had already died according recent reports from the Department of Health (DOH).

The first Covid death in the city was admitted via the emergency department of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center (OLMMC) in this capital city on March 9. The said patient perished on Wednesday, March 11, two days before the test results that confirmed the patient's infection late night of March 13.

The two other confirmed cases are now in designated hospitals for medical attention. It is not yet clear if the two additional cases are already in the DOH tally for the province.

Barangay San Isidro also registered the most number of persons under investigation (PUI) at a total of seven individuals as of March 27.

The city has a total of 37 PUIs and four of them had already been discharged from hospitals under the DOH watch.

There are 942 people under monitoring PUM in the city and 47 of them already completed the required 14-day quarantine.

The number of Covid 19 cases in the city represents half of the total count of confirmed cases in the province at six as reported by Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit on Saturday afternoon.

No further information about the patients were disclosed by the city government to protect them and their families' privacy.

Mayor Edwin Santiago urged his constituents to follow the measures being imposed by the government to contain and combat the pandemic.

He asked the public to stay home and strictly follow the one-meter social distancing practice if going out to buy food and other essential things.
