8 nabbed, P154,000 shabu seized

EIGHT newly-identified drug dealers were arrested, while some P154,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City and in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Sunday, March 29.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Albar Jalilul Limpalan, 31; Romy Jalilul Limpalan, 30; Jayson Climaco Francisco, 30; Jifran Sahawi Aril, 29; Josephine Dacua Dela Cerna, 43; Francisco Ugar Bautista, 38; Arsin Sarail Jalisan, 29; and Norman Balwit Catipay, 23.

Galvez said the two Limpalans were caught in possession of some P27,000 worth of shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:15 a.m. Saturday on 14th Street, Southcom Village, Barangay Calarian, Zamboanga City.

Seized from the possession of Francisco were P30,000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and P200 marked money when the suspect was arrested around 4:45 a.m. Saturday in the village of San Jose Gusu.

Recovered from the possession of Aril were P25,000 worth of shabu, P200 marked money and a cellular phone when arrested in a drug bust around 7 p.m. Saturday in the village of Tugbungan, Zamboanga City, according to Galvez.

The police officer said Dela Cerna yielded some P4,600 worth of shabu and P200 marked money when apprehended around 8 p.m. Saturday in Purok-1B in the village of Recodo.

Bautista was arrested around 2:30 p.m. Saturday on Kampilan Drive, Suterville, Barangay San Jose Gusu.

Galvez said recovered from the suspect were an estimated P5,000 worth of shabu and P200 marked money.

Jalisan was arrested around 1 p.m. Saturday in the village of Buenavista, Zamboanga City. Recovered from the suspect were P1,500 worth of shabu and P200 marked money.

Galvez added that Catipay was nabbed around 4:45 p.m. Saturday in a drug bust in Sitio Patunan in the village of Poblacion, Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte.

Catipay was caught in possession of some P68,000 worth of shabu packed in 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets and P500 marked money.

Galvez said all the arrested suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them by the arresting police units. (SunStar Zamboanga)
