THE Department of Agriculture (DA) in Western Visayas, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist of Negros Occidental, and Grab Bacolod are finalizing the agreement on including in consumers' food choices the local produce featured at "Kadiwa on Wheels" through the latter's mobile application.
Other delivery options are through Maid in Bacolod, Tapao delivery, Juan Ride and Tinderoo.
The "Kadiwa on Wheels" is under the "Kadiwa ni ANI at KITA" project of the agency rolled out across the country which directly links the farmers and fishers to the consuming public.
For Negros Occidental, Kadiwa will be established at the Provincial Capitol "Organic Trading Post" and at May's Organic Garden in Barangay Pahanocoy, all in Bacolod City starting Wednesday, April 1.
Engineer Albert Barrogo, concurrent provincial team leader for Negros Occidental during this enhanced community quarantine period, led the discussion with Provincial Agriculturist Japhet Masculino and Grab Bacolod manager Joann Yoshida with some delivery riders.
This has been supported and given a go signal by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, the regional line agency said.
"We expect this mode of marketing will help our local farmers sell their produce and for the community under quarantine can buy fresh farm produce," it added.
