AS THE number of positive cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Cebu have risen steadily, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia issued an executive order to close all borders effective Monday, March 30, 2020.

Medical personnel, emergency response units and members of the media are exempted from the border closure. Also exempted are field personnel of public utilities, officials and employees of banks and money transfer establishments, and delivery personnel of vehicles carrying cargo and other essential goods.

Local police and traffic personnel will be manning the borders to ensure strict implementation of the new order.(CCP)
