THE Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) is giving out P10.77 million for some 2,154 formal sector workers in Central Visayas whose jobs are hit by the Covid-19 crisis.

Each will receive P5,000 as financial aid under the Dole’s Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (Camp).

As of March 30, 2020, the Dole has evaluated 631 Camp applications and 56 of which have been approved and processed.

“Meaning to say these applicant-establishments have submitted the complete set of requirements to us for the availment of Camp that included the establishment report and company payroll,” said Dole Central Visayas Director Salome Siaton.

The Camp covers workers in private companies especially and micro, small and medium enterprises.

While large firms are urged to cover full wages of their employees within the quarantine period, they can still apply for Camp.

The Dole Central Visayas is now closely working with a money remittance center as its service provider for release of financial help to affected workers. (CSL)
