THE Mabalacat City Government is preparing for a worst-case scenario for the handling of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positive patients and persons under investigation and monitoring.

Mayor Cris Garbo said the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) designated the ASEAN Convention Center and Nayong Pilipino in Clark Freeport as Covid-19 facilities which can accommodate 500 patients.

Aside from the Clark facilities, the Mabalacat City College will also be used as an isolation area with 20-bed capacity. The school will be equipped with medical equipment and supplies.

The mayor said the city remained Covid 19 free as of yesterday with 509 persons uder monitoring, 13 persons under investigation Some 120 PUMs have completed a 14-day quarantine while the 13 PUIs await the Covid 19 test results, the local chief executive said.

The City Government is still distributing food packs to the city’s 27 villages, according to Garbo.

Indigent families residing in private subdivision will also receive food pack from the local government, Garbo said.

The mayor urged indigent families to coordinate with the city government.

Garbo also reminded his constituents to stay at home while the quarantine is still in effect to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
