Family in Magalang town gets aid from police

A FAMILY in Barangay San Antonio of Magalang town received assistance from the municipal police.

Julie Taruc of said village was apprehended by the city police for violating the curfew in line with the enhanced community quarantine enforced in the entire Luzon island to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The town police, under the leadership of Colonel Henry Flores, later found out that Taruc left their residence without quarantine pass to pawn her cellphone.

Flores said Taruc revealed that her family no longer has money for their daily expenses since her husband, a construction worker, stopped working due to the community quarantine.

Policemen went to Taruc’s residence and brought food packs, mineral water, rice, and other grocery items for the family.

The town police adopted Taruc’s family in line with its program to help indigent families in times of calamities.

A mother with a baby suffering from congenital heart disease also received blessings from the cops.

Jhovelyn Etrella sent a message to the town police, through messenger, that her child ran out of infant formula and diaper.

The town policemen immediately sent their assistance to the family.

“Kami po sa Magalang police station ay nagbigay ng kaunting tulong tulad ng gatas at diaper sa kanilang mag-ina,” Flores said.
