ABOUT 420 face shields produced by teachers of the Division of Mabalacat City were distributed to frontliners in the battle against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Teachers from Atlu Bola High School initiated the production of 120 face covers out of the school’s lamination film stocks originally intended for the development of instructional materials while Mauaque Resettlement High School made 100 additional shields out of scrap fabric, foam, laminating film and garter.

Mabalacat Tech-Voc High School, on the other hand, innovated 200 face covers from the same materials.

School Governance and Operations Division Chief Supervisor Roger Nuqui said the production of face shields was made possible through the leadership of Nathaniel Soriano, Arlene Vidal and Ariel Calma.

“These school heads together with their teachers exerted time, resources and effort to offer helping hands and share their contribution to barangay police, health workers, security guards, uniformed personnel and other frontliners who battle the Covid-19,” Nuqui added.

Despite of the difficulties of traveling due to the ongoing enhanced community quarantine, these mentors saw the best opportunity to help in a manner innate for teachers.

“Somewhere along the way we must learn that there is nothing greater than to do something for other. I hope this will create a chain of kindness, through their own little ways but with bigger results,” Nuqui added. (PIA-Central Luzon)
