Cops nab ‘drug dealer’ in Zamboanga del Norte town

AN ALLEGED drug dealer was arrested while some P102,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in Zamboanga del Norte as the police authorities continue their anti-drug campaign amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) crisis.

Arrested was Albert Andog, 23, according to Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer.

Galvez said recovered from the possession of Andog was some P102,000 worth of suspected shabu when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:40 a.m. Thursday in the village of Kauswagan, Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte.

She also recovered from the suspect’s possession was P500 marked money.

Galvez said the suspect was arrested by a joint team of policemen from the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (ZDNPDEU) under Police Captain Jefferson Balindan and Baliguian police station headed by Police Captain Rene Sagan.

She added that the suspect was placed under the custody of the ZDNPDEU while appropriate charges are set to be filed against him.

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, lauded the operating team for the continues anti-illegal drugs operations in their area despite amid the Covid-19 crisis. (SunStar Zamboanga)
