WITH the challenges brought by the enhanced community quarantine, the local government unit of Buguias, Benguet decided to waive rental fees at the public market.
On April 2, Mayor Ruben Tinda-an waived the payment of fees of all buildings including public market and municipal booths leased by the Municipal Government effective from March 17 to April 13.
Under Administrative Order 3 series 2020, tasked the municipal treasury to stop collection payments.
“The community quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic causes economic struggles, a total disruption of the normal course of economic activities. Thus, there is a necessity to soften the blow of loss of income specially to low income earners,” he added.
President Rodrigo Duterte has previously declared a state of calamity throughout the country due to the Covid-19.
Luzon was placed under enhanced community quarantine March 17 with suspension of classes and mass transportation in order to avoid spread of the virus.
As preventive measure against the Covid–19, disinfection was conducted this week at the Buguias public market.
