MABALACAT CITY -- The 54-member bloc Party-List Coalition Foundation Inc., (PCFI) of the House of Representatives recently spearheaded the distribution of more than 800 sets of personal protective equipment (PPEs) to public safety frontliners in various national and local agencies here in Metro Manila, and some nearby regions.
PCFI head and 1Pacman party-list Representative Mikee Romero said in an interview that the coalition supports not only the medical but also the public safety frontliners, and that these PPEs are “crucial to help protect and safeguard those who by their duties, are in the streets, maintaining peace and order.”
In a statement, Patrol Party-list Congressman Jorge Bustos said that Patrol, as an active member of PCFI, was tasked to identify the beneficiaries of this project.
The beneficiaries identified were the Philippine National Police (PNP) – NHQ, HPG, IG, PSPG, NCRPO, Regions 4A and 3; Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP); Bureau of Jail Mananegement and Penology (BJMP); Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); Philippine Coast Guard; NCR Aviation; and some private hospitals.
“It is imperative that we provide our public safety frontliners with the proper gear and equipment so they would not have to worry about needlessly contracting the virus, and transmitting it to their families or colleagues. I cannot thank the PCFI well enough for their financial support in realizing and fulfilling this project,” Bustos said.
Congressman Bustos said that the PPEs are “incomparable” to the sacrifices that the frontliners have given in order to save lives and make a difference.
The PPEs donated consisted of a PPE over-all suit, a pair of goggles and a pair of nitrile gloves per set.
Patrol Party-List, the House of Representative’s frontrunner advocating public safety and disaster management, are composed of member-volunteers working together towards making communities safer, crime-free and more disaster-resilient. It has coined the slogan “Gusto ko, Safe ka!” to emphasize the importance of safety and preparedness in communities and families at all times.
