Magalang town remains coronavirus free

THE agricultural municipality of Magalang situated at the eastern side of Pampanga has remained free from coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as of April 3.

This was learned in the situational report released by the local government stating that the town has zero Covid-19 positive.

The town however has 89 persons under monitoring (PUMs) and two patients under investigation (PUIs).

The municipal government also recorded 230 PUMs who completed the a 14-day quarantine.

The town’s social welfare office is now in the process of identifying residents who will benefit from the social amelioration program (SAP) of the national government.

Mayor Romulo Pecson met on Friday with barangay officials of the town’s 27 villages and discussed the implementation of the program.

The local chief executive was assisted by Social Welfare Officer SHirley Pallasigui, Municipal Administrator Lyndon Cunanan,

Municipal Planning and Development Officer Joey Ocampo and other town officials.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office clarified that not all residents will recieved financial assistance from the government under the SAP.

“Ang DSWD national and nagbaba ng datos at ang bibigyan na pamilya sa Magalang ay 12,795,” the MSWDO stated.

Pecson also informed the village chiefs during the meeting that the local government will release the social pension from the funds of the government and the one sack of rice per family.
