CSF eyes own Covid-19 testing facility, mobile app to track patients

THE City Government of San Fernando plans its own testing facility for coronavirus disease.

The local government is expecting the arrival soon of the machine and test kits and is coordinating with a hospital to perform the testing activities.

“We have adequate number of health personnel who will attend to the needs of the city as we set to operate our own health care facilities for persons under investigation (PUIs) and the testing facility,” City Infectious Cluster Program Manager Renely Tungol said.

City Information and Communications Technology (CICT) Office, on the other hand, is currently developing a citizen’s tracker digital mobile application which aims to aid and guide the local government in monitoring and evaluating the number of PUIs and persons under monitoring in every village.

CICT officer Marthy Zapata said all barangay captains will be given access to the application once it is operational.

Relative to this, Mayor Edwin Santiago reiterated its appeal to residents to strictly follow directives given to them citing that frontliners—including barangay officials and medical personnel—are risking their lives while performing their responsibilities. (PIA-Central Luzon)
