THE Hacienda Bongco Agrarian Reform Cooperative has extended financial cash assistance and food packs to its members and other residents at Barangay Jonob-jonob in Escalante City recently.
The farmer-beneficiaries organization is assisted by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-North.
It provided members a portion of their 13th month pay.
Also, it supplied more than 27 sacks of rice to 46 recipients. Each member-beneficiary receives about 37 kilograms of rice.
The fund used was sourced out from their revenue during the previous crop year harvest.
DAR-Negros Occidental I said a story of generosity and goodwill continues to bloom despite the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic that strained thousands worldwide.
It said this humble agrarian reform beneficiary organization (Arbo) located in Barangay Jonob-jonob is an inspiring act of kindness among its fellow farmers and farmworkers amid these hard and trying times.

"The generosity amidst the unprecedented time of crisis is what we need today to remind us that despite how scarce or abundant our resources are, we must also consider and be mindful of the needs of others," it added.
