SAFEGUARDING the 2.5-hectare property of Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) would be physically straining if one goes around on sole.

Thus, its security force now has a little respite from foot patrol to advancing their visibility and mobility with the use of the 10 rechargeable scooters lent to the hospital by Mytaxi.ph (Grab), a ride-hailing app used by commuters in Bacolod City to the expanse of Southeast Asia.

With the vigorous invasion of coronavirus disease, Grab also ceased operation, except for food delivery, to comply with the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Bacolod City and Province of Negros Occidental and a lockdown in Luzon and in countries they clenched operation.

Dr. Julius Drilon, chief of Hospital of CLMMRH and Jocelyn Yngson-Yoshida, Grab Regional Operations head undertook this initiative through electronic coordination, to lend ten of its rechargeable scooters with helmets to CLMMRH to enhance the mobility of the hospital security personnel who similarly doubled their energies to achieve their tasks at the height of Covid-19.

Aside from the scooters, Grab also provided CLMMRH 300 pieces of acetate made face shields for the hospital frontliners and other personnel.

They also provided 200 acetate made face shields to Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City through Dr. Maria Estrella “Maritel” Ledesma, Chief of the Provincial Hospital.

“Grab took cognizance of the fact that our medical frontliners are doing a heraldic service to help ward-off the Coronavirus disease. These face shields are sincerely provided to the CLMMRH health warriors to show that we simply care for all of them. We salute to their sense of heroism, love of country and to their fellowmen. May they accelerate the recovery of those lying helplessly in the hospital beds while God endeavors to bring complete healing to our land,” Yoshida said.

Dr. Drilon and Dr. Ledesma were grateful for the said assistance.
