Covid-19 cases in CV still at 35

TWO more Covid-19 patients in Central Visayas have tested negative for coronavirus disease (Covid-19), while no new positive cases and deaths were reported Monday, April 6, 2020.

The Department of Health (DOH)-Central Visayas, together with the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory (VSMMC SNL), released 54 results Monday and all were negative for the new virus.

The two new recoveries brought the total number of those who recovered from the disease to 13, while mortality count remains at eight. The number of confirmed cases also remains at 35.

Cebu City has the highest number of confirmed cases with 22, but with seven recoveries and five deaths.

Negros Oriental recorded four cases, Cebu and Lapu-Lapu City recorded three cases each, Mandaue City with two cases, and Bohol with one case.

Cebu City also recorded the highest number of recoveries at seven, followed by Negros Oriental at two and Bohol, Cebu, Lapu-Lapu City and Mandaue City with one case each.

DOH-Central Visayas Director Jaime Bernadas appealed to the public to remain in their respective homes. He said he is hoping that the trend of no new cases of Covid-19 will continue. (JCT)
