DOMESTIC and international flights of local air carriers will remain suspended until April 30, 2020, following the extension of the Luzon enhanced community quarantine.

“We intend to resume flying by May 1, 2020, if allowed by government authorities, global public health conditions and the travel environment,” Philippine Airlines said in an advisory.

PAL “will announce the list of operating flights and routes once finalized,” assuring affected passengers their “ticket is safe and remains valid.”

AirAsia Philippines, on the other hand, said all its affected guests will be promptly notified via email or SMS.

“Guests with existing flight bookings made on or before March 22, 2020 with a departure date until May 31, 2020 will now be able to select from a range of extended flexibility options for future travel,” the airline said.

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific also announced its flights will remain suspended until the end of April.

“Passengers on cancelled flights may opt to rebook, avail of a Travel Fund or a refund. Furthermore, to provide added flexibility for passengers with booked flights from May 1 to Sept. 30, options are also available for them should they wish to change their travel plan,” it said.

PAL said its operations highly depend on various factors including “the duration of current Philippine community quarantines, the status of relevant travel bans and restrictions imposed by various governments and their effect on passenger demand, and above all on the public health and safety situation in each of the cities and countries that PAL serves.”

The flag carrier said it would still consider operating ad hoc special flights for stranded passengers and cargo flights. (CSL)
