As figures go down, DOH-NorMin reminds public to stay vigilant

DEPARTMENT of Health (DOH)-Northern Mindanao Infectious Diseases Cluster Head Dr. Ian Gonzales said it’s still too early to tell that the region is in a contained status despite no new confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positive case in the past few days.

Gonzales reminded everyone to remain vigilant as Northern Mindanao has recorded a drop in the number of persons under investigation (PUIs) and persons under monitoring (PUMs), other regions’ number of PUIs and PUMs are still rising.

“Kailangan nato i-maintain atong vigilance. Dili siguro kinahanglan na ang gobyerno kada adlaw sundon-sundon ang mga tao para magbadlong,” Gonzales said.

“Kita mismo responsible as individual Filipinos na bantayan, ampingan ang atong kaugalingon ug dili magkompyansa gihapon,” he added.

As of April 8, the DOH-Northern Mindanao recorded a total of 62 PUIs admitted in various facilities in the region, Gonzales said.

Admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center are seven PUIs and two Covid-positive patients who are now recovering and waiting for their repeat test results.
