TEAM BBC overpowered the hard-fighting PROBAC squad, 100-95, to capture the title of the 2010 LNA7 Inter-Barkada Basketball Tournament during the championship game Friday, March 19, 2010 at the LN Agustin Memorial Sports Center in West Negros University.
It was a come-from-behind victory for BBC, as PROBAC erected its biggest lead of 16 points midway through the third quarter, behind the hot-shooting troika of Ryan Javellana, JR Fernandez, and Peewee Demonteverde.
BBC crawled back and waged its own late 3rd canto rally led by Lemuel Unabia, Kempee Lagrozan, and Tony Agustin, for a 72-69 cushion at the end of the quarter.
Joebert Pastias, providing steady performance throughout the game, led BBC with 19 points, with Aling-Aling Cervales, Kempee Lagrazon, and Nonoy Hugnatan contributing at least 10 points apiece for the Jack Tumayan-mentored BBC. Carlo Diaz chipped in 17 points to lead the PROBAC Team, coached by Ashley Maximo.
There were eight (8) participating teams for this year’s LNA7 Inter-Barkada Basketball Tournament, organized by Leodegario N. Agustin (LNA7), with Chairman Tony Agustin.
The championship trophy was awarded to BBC by LNA7 Inter-Barkada Basketball Tournament Commissioner Jake Azucena.
