Patient 598's daughter Covid-19 positive

THE husband and the daughter of patient 598, or the 66-year-old female from Lanao del Sur who was discharged on March 31 after her repeat test came out negative, are the newest cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC).

But NMMC chief Dr. Jose Chan said the husband, a 56-year-old man, has his repeat test read negative on Thursday, April 9.

Patient 598 (the mother), the husband and their daughter were tested together for possible infection of Covid-19 after they were admitted at the NMMC in early March, Chan said.

But the mother's result arrived early, while the positive test results of the husband and the 16-year-old daughter arrived at the NMMC only on Wednesday, April 8.

Today, April 9, the repeat test of the father arrived and read negative.

"Na retest na sila (husband and daughter) for possible negative na unta, niabot ang resulta gahapon na positive, niabot ang resulta karon na negative," Chan said.

"It's just that the results came late and they arrived hapit magdungan ang mga resulta," he added.

The husband of patient 598 and their daughter remained admitted at the NMMC, with the latter in a stable condition and waiting for the result of her repeat test.

City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said they are still monitoring patient 598.
